Putting signage near light switches reminds people to use energy consuming devices more efficiently and to turn them off when not in use.
Why
Signage to remind people to turn off lights and appliances overnight when not needed, particularly in areas which are infrequently used such as tea rooms and bathrooms, is a proven, low- cost way to avoid energy use and conserve resources.
How
Informative behaviour change signage and information can be obtained from Grow Me The Money, What Can I Do Right Now and Sustainability Victoria. Simply download the sign, print it out and put it up next to the appliance to remind staff to switch it off when its not in use.
