Install flow restrictors on all taps

Flow restrictors/aerators reduce the water used by your business, without adversely affecting the needs of your business, staff or clients.

Why
Flow restrictors are an inexpensive and effective way to reduce water use. Flow restrictors reduce the flow of water from taps to approximately 6–7 L per minute. Flow restrictors also reduce energy consumption and costs because less hot water is being used.

How
Flow restrictors are available from hardware stores and in most cases these can be self-installed. However if a plumber is required it is a very simple job.

How we calculate this

Assumes the upgrading of 3 taps with a 2 Star WELS rating to a 5 Star rating with flow restrictors. This action saves 68KL per tap per annum. Each KL of water saved saves 2.34kgCO2-e. (2.34 X 68 X 3 = 477.36kg)
