An air compressor is a device that pressurises and compresses air, which is then released, usually through a system of hoses. Compressed air is used to power certain pieces of industrial equipment. Over time parts of the system including hose connections can wear, resulting in air leaks.

Why
Leaky air hoses reduce the efficiency of compressors, thus forcing the motors to work harder and therefore leading to higher energy costs.

How
Locate air leaks either by ear when other machinery is turned off or by putting sections of the hoses through a bucket of water to see if it creates bubbles. Leaks can then be fixed using the appropriate means.
