Vega Press is continually improving the operations of every area of the business to reduce our environmental impact and has been developing transparent and authentic green credentials for a number of years.
In addition to ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems and FSC Chain of Custody certifications, Vega is assessing the implementation of ISO 14064-1:2006 which relates to greenhouse gas management and related activities.
Vega took its first steps to offset emissions by planting 1,000 indigenous trees for Landcare projects in the Bass Coast Landcare Network area and purchased 50 tonnes of carbon credits from CO2 Australia to offset the emissions from its internal delivery vehicles. Since those first steps Vega is now focused on a more comprehensive program that will satisfy future carbon offset requirements.
Vega is now certified as a 100% Carbon Offset operation with The Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI). This has been achieved through the purchase of carbon offsets accredited in accordance with international protocols.
In consultation with CRI Vega also provides an online calculator so that Vega customers can calculate the additional carbon offsets required to make their job carbon neutral.
