Horsham House takes our environmental impact seriously. Since mid 2007 we have undertaken extensive resource auditing, equipment upgrades and efficiency approaches. The result has been large reductions in our environmental impacts: 40% lower electricity use (a fifth of Melbourne best-practice for motels and hotels), 38% reduction of water consumption, near 100% diversion of organic wastes to composting system and, total reuse of laundry grey water for heritage garden

Our achievement has been recognised through Platinum accreditation in the Victorian EPA and Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry business sustainability program Grow Me the Money. In addition, we have been recognised in three categories of the Keep Australia Beautiful - Sustainable Communities Awards within the Horsham Rural City Council shire: Water Conservation, Energy Conservation and, Innovation in Conservation.
